National Home Care & Hospice Month

National Home Care & Hospice Month

Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care has grown rapidly in recent years by building a workforce of talented caregivers who create meaningful relationships with their senior care receivers. This November, in celebration of National Home Care & Hospice Month, Seniors Helping Seniors® services is honoring those caregivers, whose tireless work has made us a leading in-home care brand.

Our senior caregivers are essential to what we do and are so valued at Seniors Helping Seniors®. They brighten the lives of seniors by providing compassionate care with a helping hand and supporting seniors to continue to live independent lives by taking care of day-to-day tasks that become more challenging with age. We prioritize caring for our caregivers just like the seniors we care for daily.

Celebrated nationally every November, National Home Care & Hospice Month was established by the National Association of Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), which is a nonprofit organization focused on supporting the nation’s 33,000 home care and hospice organizations.

Nearly 12 million aging, disabled, and chronically ill Americans receive in-home care every year, and caregivers play a critical role in ensuring those in need of in-home services receive the care they need. As Seniors Helping Seniors® franchise has expanded into markets across the country, the brand has provided opportunities for those caregivers to turn their hard work and passion into lucrative career opportunities while also offering a source of relief to family caregivers experiencing burnout.

Caregivers are at the core of what we do, and their work is essential to the health and happiness of so many people around the world. Nearly half of all caregivers in the U.S. are over the age of 50 and are themselves vulnerable to declining health, which is why Seniors Helping Seniors® services, which prioritizes hiring seniors (people over the age of 65) as caregivers, provides a wealth of supports to ensure the mental, physical and emotional health of its caregivers.

Over the past 25 years, we have put a lot of work into ensuring that Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care is not only the best option for our seniors but also for caregivers across the country. That is something we are extremely proud of, but it is not something we take for granted. We will continue to make sure anyone who has the passion and skills to be a great caregiver will find a great opportunity to grow and make an impact with Seniors Helping Seniors® services. Our caregivers truly have … a way to give and receive®. Do you know a senior that needs help in their home? Would they like some companionship? Are you a caregiver looking for a senior to help?
